Geosearch was founded in November of 2005 after Karl left the Taranaki Regional Council and decided to start his own firm. While this move was well planned, it was a total leap into the unknown, with a young family and no idea [that the GFC was only two years away]. Two years later the GFC hit, however the business survived thanks to his Taranaki-based clients, to whom Karl will always be so grateful to.
Over the past 25 years, Geosearch has worked on a great variety of hydrological projects throughout the central North Island and formed great connections with many industry professionals (Surveyors/Drillers/Mathematicians/Scientists). While often partaking in challenging work, Karl states this has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
Karl has a long history in geology, starting his career in the outback of Australia in 1988 where he worked as an exploratory geologist for 10 years, before returning to New Zealand and taking root in Oakura. In Taranaki he got a position in the oil and gas industry, before moving to the Taranaki Regional Council as their Freshwater Scientific Resource Officer.
Over this time Karl, and Geosearch, have developed a core set of values:.
Integrity - We work with honesty and transparency, forging relationships built on trust and respect.
Respect - We show great respect to all our clients, and the environment, creating better outcomes for all
Passion - We are passionate about what we do, and are driven by a love and a desire to make a positive impact
